Description
Sencha Green Tea – Fresh, Light, and Full of Flavor
Origin: Zhejiang Province, China
Meet your everyday green. Our Organic & Fairtrade Sencha is a Japanese-style steamed green tea grown at ~900 m in Zhejiang, China.
Needle-like leaves unfurl into a pale-emerald cup with fresh grassy aromatics, a gentle oceanic umami and a bright citrus lift that's clean, silky and beautifully low in astringency.
Harvested May–June from young spring growth, it’s a refreshing, easy-drinking green for any time of day. With exceptional value—around 50 serves per 100 g (and a sweeter second infusion if you re-steep).
This is the cup that clears the mind without the jitters. Organic and fair trade for pure, feel-good flavour. Add to cart and enjoy a calm, focused pause.
Try pairing it with any of the following:
-
A drizzle of light Australian honey or a touch of maple to round the edges.
-
Lemon or orange peel, apple or pear slices, or a few dried berries for a lively lift.
You can also blend it with other teas to enhance your experience:
-
Green Tea + Lemongrass & Ginger (2:1) for zesty clarity
-
Green Tea + Peppermint (4:1) for a crisp finish
-
Green Tea + a pinch of Hibiscus (8:1) for a tart, pink spritz (iced)

Instructions
1. Boil fresh, filtered waterStart with fresh, filtered water. Avoid using water that's been sitting around for too long, as it may affect the tea's flavor. |
2. Heat the Water to the Right TemperatureSencha is sensitive to high temperatures. Heat the water to 80°C, just below boiling. Too hot, and the tea will become bitter; too cool, and it won’t extract its full flavor. |
3. Measure the teaUse about 1 tablespoon of Green Tea per 8 oz (240 ml) of water. |
3. Steep the teaPour the hot water over the tea leaves and let it steep for 5 minutes. Sencha is best when steeped for a short time to prevent bitterness. You can experiment with steeping times to find your ideal balance of flavor. |
4. Optional Add-insSencha is delicious on its own, but if you prefer, you can add: Lemon: A slice of lemon can enhance the freshness. |
5. Enjoy!Once your tea has steeped, strain the leaves (if using loose leaf) and enjoy the delicate, grassy flavor of your Sencha Green Tea. For an iced version, let the tea cool and pour it over ice for a refreshing, chilled drink. |
